Context and Inspiration
"Grèves" is a work produced in 2020. This painting captures the serene beauty of the northern strikes of the island of Batz, where I was born and resides. Inspired by the coastal landscapes of her natural surroundings, the artist uses a soft color palette to evoke a peaceful scene of near-low tide.
Visual Description
The painting shows a view of the shores with dunes and rocks on the right. The beach of fine white sand is bathed by a calm sea with shades of gray blue. The sky, although gray, is soft and harmonious, adding a tranquil atmosphere to the composition. The knife strokes add texture and depth to the work, making the natural elements particularly realistic and calming.
Painting Techniques and Materials
I use the knife painting technique to apply oil to the canvas, creating rich and dynamic textures. The soft colors and details of the dunes, rocks and the sea give the work a special depth and tranquility.
Thematic Analysis
