Pourquoi j'ai choisi le couteau?

Why did I choose the knife?

Why did the knife conquer my heart and my canvas?

Today, I invite you to delve into a personal story that reveals why, between a paintbrush and a knife, my heart always leans towards the latter. This preference is not just a matter of taste; it is rooted in deep experiences and intimate reflections that I wish to share with you.

Once upon a time, in a small studio bathed in light (and overturned tubes of paint), there lived a slightly eccentric artist who struggled with her brush.

Imagine me, standing in front of a white canvas, paintbrush in hand, ready to create a work of art. Things start well, I am concentrated, my tongue slightly out like any good artist absorbed in her task. But after a few minutes, disaster! The brush and I are at war! Brush hairs take great delight in separating, creating uneven lines, unwanted spots, and often, artistic profanities.

As I was rummaging through my drawers for my lost patience, I came across a paint knife. A flash of genius struck me (or maybe it was just an overzealous ray of sunshine). I grabbed the knife, and it was as if the painting fairy herself had whispered in my ear: "Try this, you'll see."

And there, revelation! No more stubborn brush hairs. With the knife, each stroke is clean, each color mixture is done with surgical precision. It's like going from an old 2CV to a Ferrari – well, a Ferrari that spreads paint elegantly.

The knife, symbol of my resilience

Each stab represents for me the ability to overcome obstacles. The knife, unlike the paintbrush, requires unwavering confidence and flawless precision. It symbolizes inner strength and determination, qualities that I have had to cultivate through times of personal challenge.

Dancing with the canvas: The magic of the knife

The painting knife is freedom of texture and movement. It's a bit like dancing tango with the canvas, each movement is passionate and unpredictable. And the best part? No more cleaning brush hairs! A wipe and presto, the knife is ready for the next work.

A journey through colors and textures

The knife allows me to play with textures, transforming raw pigments into works of art. Where the brush is often limited to the surface, the knife allows a deeper exploration, an intimate understanding of each color.
